As we head into the first break for the DBA Cup, lets look back on Weeks 4&5 in the League:
The Dorset Storm still sit pretty on top of Div 1, 4-0, with a solid win over the Team Dorset Spartans, 82-48, and another W over the Tigers, who had to field a weakened side with only 6 players, and the Storm took control in the 2nd half to finish 75-56 on top.
The Oaks have started to get their season on a roll, and sit just a game behind on 3-1., with a convincing win over the Bandits, who just don't seem to be the side they were last year and through the summer, and then a super close fought win 75-72 over the Razors, as they came from behind in the last minutes with a go-ahead 3 from M.Srudgys and then iced it from the line with FT's from Antanas and Srudgys. MVP went to B.Justus with 14pts in the 3rd, and 17 on the night.
In Div 2, the Suns got their season going, as they improved to 0.500 with 2 close wins, first over their court-share Donkeys, 53-47, and then on the bus at New Milton Blackhawks 44-41. Previously the Blackhawks were undefeated with their 3rd win over Evolution, 68-43, but drop to 0.750 with the loss to the Suns.
Evolution grabbed the overtime win over he Seahawks, as they jumped to 20pt lead mid way through the first half, but the Seahawks pulled it back to have the lead in the 4th, before a tying 3 on the buzzer sent the game to an extra 5mins. The Evolution, lead again by C.Sorell with 29points, held out for the win.
BU Performance lead the way 3-0 in the division, with a game in hand, after a close game with the Evolution, which went back and forth, but BU held off the 4th Q come back to take the win 69-63.
As we get deeper into the season can we remind teams (again) for MVP nominations, made by the losing team (and the refs if needed) for the most influential player from the winning team.
