Wed July 24th saw the culmination of the DBA Summer League, between the top 2 teams, the Weymouth Bandits and the South Coast Tigers. Hosted at the BU court, the turn out was great and making some noise.
It was neck and neck through the first but the Tigers took the quarter on a 3 point play from D. White, making it 23-21 after 10.
The second started close, O.Turner and C.Alexander kept the scoring for the Bandits, but soon the Tigers found their range, hitting 5 triples in the quarter, to take the ascendency going into the break 55-36.
The third saw tighter D from both teams, limiting each other to minimal points, with the Tigers taking a hold on the trophy, extending their lead by 4, to 71-47.
But the Bandits did not just roll over. They came out in the 4th flying, on a 15-2 run, to put some tension back in the game 75-62 with 5 to play. More buckets from C.Alexander dropped the lead to just 8, with 3 to play but the Tigers won it from the charity stripe, hitting them when needed to take the win and close it out, 86-72.
F.Mass took the Finals MVP honours with 26pts on the night. C.Alexander and O.Turner combined for 40points for the Bandits, with 26 and 16 respectively.
Massive Congrats to the Tigers and the Bandits for a great final to a brilliant summer league.
